FBME can tell how much you're worth to Facebook

JUST how much will Facebook make off you when they make their initial public offering?

For me it’s $314.50, according to FBME - a website tool that promises to crunch your social network data into dollars.

It uses an algorithm to create a Facebook valuation by blending information about the company - such as its share price, advertising revenue and total valuation - with your profile.

You can read about the evaluation process here.

“We use the Facebook Ads system to compute the relative value of your profile info - your location, age, gender, sexual preference, relationship status, and education level,” the website says.

The results also displays how many times more or less valuable you are than the average user depending on each of your profile attributes.

"A multiple of 2.00 makes you twice as valuable, while a multiple of 0.50 makes you half as valuable," FBME says.

FBME was created by Californian company Disconnect, which helps web users understand and control their data, says your Facebook information will only be accessed, not stored.

“We access but don’t store your Facebook profile info to measure your value to the company. We don’t automatically post on your timeline.” The website says.
